Overview of the Role
Cahercalla Community Care is seeking a talented and motivated Cook/Chef to join our team. Reporting to the Head Chef, the successful candidate will assist in creating nutritious and high-quality meals for our residents while ensuring strict compliance with HACCP and health and safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare, cook, and present meals for residents, ensuring they are of high quality, nutritious, and tailored to dietary requirements.
• Plan and prepare meals in accordance with menus, nutritional guidelines, and residents’ dietary needs (including allergies and special diets).
• Ensure accurate stock control, including monitoring and replenishing ingredients as needed.
• Follow and maintain compliance with HACCP guidelines in all aspects of food handling, preparation, storage, and hygiene.
• Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen workspace, ensuring all areas are cleaned and sanitized after use.
• Collaborate with the catering and care teams to coordinate mealtime schedules and address specific resident needs.
• Manage and dispose of food waste in accordance with environmental and safety protocols.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, ensuring a high standard of skill and professionalism is maintained within the team.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Head Chef.

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:
• Proven experience working as a Cook or Chef in a professional kitchen, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• HACCP training certification is essential.
• Strong knowledge of dietary requirements, special nutrition needs, and allergy management.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality meals.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Cahercalla Community Care is seeking reliable and hardworking Housekeeping Staff to contribute to our team by maintaining clean, safe, and hygienic environments for our residents, visitors, and staff. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the role involves performing various cleaning and housekeeping duties in accordance with hygiene regulations and organizational standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to ensure high standards of hygiene at all times.
• Perform daily cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Manage laundry services, including collecting, washing, drying, ironing, and distribution of resident and facility linen.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in line with environmental and waste management policies.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and other toiletries as needed in all areas of the facility.
• Ensure proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, following all health and safety guidelines.
• Conduct deep cleaning when required, including high dusting and floor treatments.
• Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the relevant department.
• Maintain a warm and respectful relationship with residents and staff while performing duties.
• Adhere to infection control policies and ensure hygiene protocols are met.
• Carry out additional housekeeping duties as assigned by the supervisor.

We are currently seeking motivated and reliable Kitchen General Operatives to join our team at Cahercalla Community Care. Reporting to the Food Service Manager, the role involves assisting with the delivery of food to wards and maintaining cleanliness in the unit kitchenette in full compliance with HACCP guidelines.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in supporting our residents’ day-to-day needs while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare resident trays, ensuring all necessary equipment and utensils are available on time.
• Clear and clean the unit kitchenette as well as catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques.
• Regularly empty bins and dispose of waste in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, including low and high dusting, washing floors, and general cleaning of microwaves, refrigerators, and other kitchen equipment.
• Polish cutlery and ensure tea/coffee pots and crockery are clean and undamaged.
• Conduct a deep clean of the kitchen on a weekly basis to maintain high hygiene standards.
• Adhere to HACCP and all health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Assist with record-keeping as directed by the line manager.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager to support the team.
