Nursing Home

Caring for the older members of our Community is a top priority of Cahercalla Community Nursing Home & Hospice. The Nursing Home is designed to facilitate residents who may require Respite, Convalescence or Long Term care.

Trained nurses and healthcare assistants provide excellent care to the residents in a friendly and reassuring environment close to family and friends. Our holistic approach ensures that individual needs are catered for.

Our medical services include full assessment on admission, individualised care plans, GP & out of hour’s doctor access and therapies such as physiotherapy and chiropody. The availability of  hospice care services on site ensures that our residents have effective and prompt access to further medical services.

The residents/patients experience is central to how our nursing home operates and we pride ourselves on not only responding to the medical needs of the resident/patient but also providing our residents/patients with an excellent quality of life through meeting their social needs and individual preferences.

This has been achieved through a number of initiatives including an extensive activities programme, regular contact with the community including daily mass, visits from students in the local schools, concerts, delicious home cooking which includes menus catering for all tastes and special diets, home baking and a range of fresh choices each day.

Admissions are made through the Matron or her Deputy, who can be contacted on 065 6824388 or by email at rosecollins@cahercalla.ie.

A visit to the Nursing Home in advance of admission is encouraged. Our Matron will be happy to meet with you and your family to give you a tour of the building and discuss any personal needs you may have. In order to ensure you receive our uninterrupted attention we would ask that you kindly schedule an appointment in the first instance.
