For almost 15 years the Surgical Day unit at Cahercalla Community Hospital & Hospice has served the healthcare needs of the local community.
The unit provides a wide range of surgical and medical services on a day case and outpatient consultation basis in the areas of Dermatology, Dietetics, ENT, Rheumatology, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Neurology, Oral Surgery, General Surgery (including Varicose Veins & Hernias), Urology and Gastroenterology. The unit also provides ultrasound services.
Some of the best consultants in the Mid West area choose to practice here and are supported by a team of highly qualified and dedicated nurses, attendants and administration staff.
The unit, which caters for up to 2,500 surgical admissions and 5,000 consultations per annum, contributes to reducing waiting times for patients and minimises the need for the local community to travel long distances to have their healthcare needs catered for.
