At Cahercalla Community Nursing Home & Hospice we pride ourselves on the quality of the food we offer as well as the range we provide.

We believe that food and nutrition are two of the most important factors in the well being of our residents. Food is important for everyone’s enjoyment and particularly for the elderly and the frail good nutrition is vital for sustenance and recovery.

Our menu offers a wide range of choices for each meal, with snacks and drinks always available outside of mealtimes. We particularly pride ourselves on our home baking with bread, scones, cakes and desserts prepared each day.

At Cahercalla:

• Each resident is individually assessed for their dietary needs which covers their medical, and cultural needs as well as their individual preferences and tastes.

• During their stay with us we monitor each resident’s food intake to ensure sufficient nutrition and balance in their diet

• As far as possible all our food is freshly prepared on the premises by our team of qualified chefs and cooks

• We use high quality ingredients and where possible we use local

• Meals can be taken in the dining room or in a residents own bedroom whatever is their preference

• Even where a resident is unable to take solids we ensure the same quality and balance in the diet and make the food as attractive as possible
